I hope that you are spending today in celebration, enjoying a delicious feast and the company of family or friends. At this special time, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for each of you.
I am deeply thankful for the commitment of our students and families, which has propelled our school from its humble beginnings in my garage to the thriving dojang we have today. Thank you for supporting us through the months of growing pains. It is a joy to have the new dojang finally finished (we got the floors done this week!) and be able to fully enjoy it together with each of you.
At Grand Valley Taekwondo, we are more than just a martial arts school; we are a community that extends beyond the mats. I think of each one of my students like a member of my family. I root for you; I want the best for you; I see the potential that you have and work to help you achieve it. I love seeing your triumphs! As terrible as it sounds, I love seeing you in the hard times - not because I like to see you struggle, but because it makes the victory on the other side so much sweeter.
Thank you for sharing your dedication and your passion for the martial arts. Your involvement is essential to our mission of building this community founded on respect, excellence, and lifelong learning. I hope that we can share the principles that we learn at taekwondo far beyond the doors of our dojang, and make a positive impact on the lives of everyone around us.
Thank you for being part of my taekwondo family. My life is better because you are part of it. I wish you a warm and joyful Thanksgiving!
With respect,
Master Valerie Holley
